Rios Clementi Hale Studios

Bio: Rios Clementi Hale Studios encompasses a myriad of talents in one firm. Our talents span the design disciplines of architecture, landscape architecture, planning, urban, interior, exhibit, graphic, and product design. We are dedicated to applying a strong interdisciplinary collaborative approach to the design process, whether on projects entirely within our office, or in consultation with other design firms. We design schools and chairs, plazas and plates, houses and parks, corporate offices and exhibits. We work for corporate, institutional, cultural, public, commercial, and private residential clients. We create singular, integrated, and comprehensive solutions to the design challenges that face our natural and built environments. We are continually working towards a sustainable future. We delight in beauty, simplicity, nature, variety, pattern, decoration, rigor, randomness and wit.

Artist Statement: “Adirondack furniture gone mad,” is how Mark Rios (founding Principal of RIOS CLEMENTI HALE STUDIOS) describes the painted furniture designed for a client with a spacious Malibu garden, who could not find outdoor seating that would fit the large scale of his property. With their sinuous curves and primary colors, the benches, tables, and chairs indeed resemble a cosmopolitan, slightly berserk spin-off from an L.L. Bean catalogue.
