Peter Lindsay Schaudt ASLA, FAAR

Bio: Peter Lindsay Schaudt, will be inducted into the Council of Fellows this October in Minneapolis. Peter is Principal of Peter Lindsay Schaudt Landscape Architecture, Inc. in Chicago. The firm’s focus is on collaboration with architects on public and institutional urban projects. Peter was an Associate for Daniel Urban Kiley and his work is profoundly influenced by the legendary modernist. Over the past 15 years, the firm’s portfolio of work has been inserted into the great historical built landscapes of Chicago. Peter’s work respects the historical legacy and at the same time infuses thoughtfully restrained and elegant design solutions that speak of today. These projects include the renovation of the classic modernist Daley Plaza, the Mies van der Rohe Illinois Institute of Technology Campus, the new Soldier Field in Burnham Park on the lakefront, the Wrigley Field campus, a garden in Olmsted’s Washington Park, and the landscape master plan for the historic Lincoln Park Conservatory and gardens.

Artist’s Statement: The painting is a cross-section watercolor from the Lincoln Park Conservatory Landscape Master Plan, Chicago, 2005. The section is through the sunken flower garden looking north towards the historic conservatory.
