Alan Ward FASLA

Artist Bio: Alan Ward, a principal at Sasaki Associates, is a landscape architect, urban designer, and photographer. His photographs have appeared in more than 150 books and magazines, including his book American Designed Landscapes and Miller Garden: Icon of Modernism. He was a Visiting Artist at The American Academy in Rome in 2002.

Artist Statement: This is a photograph printed on watercolor paper from a scan of an original 4" X 5" large format negative. It shows Fletcher Steele's Perugino View at Naumkeag in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, which was in the exhibition and catalogue "Built Landscapes: Gardens of the Northeast," that circulated nationally. The photograph also appeared in the book American Designed Landscapes.
