Dennis Carmichael is a Principal with EDAW and has practiced for thirty years in the areas of urban parks, plazas, and streetscapes. He has earned forty design awards including ten from ASLA. Noteworthy projects include Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta, Wharf District Park in Boston, Celebration in Florida, and the Discovery Channel Headquarters in Silver Spring, Maryland. He served as President of ASLA in 2006.

"The painting is of Miller Park in Chautauqua, New York, the site of the original tent encampment in 1870 and now a charming grove with Victorian cottages embracing it."
