Gary Hilderbrand is Principal of Reed Hilderbrand in Watertown, Massachusetts. He is a widely-published author and critic on 20th century landscape architecture practice, contributing essays in numerous books and journals. Hilderbrand holds degrees from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. In 1990, he returned to Harvard as an instructor and is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture at the university’s School of Design. He was Prince Charitable Trust/Garden Club of America Fellow in Landscape Architecture at the American Academy in Rome from 1994-95.
