Peter Lindsay Schaudt is Principal of Peter Lindsay Schaudt Landscape Architecture, Inc., located in Chicago, Illinois. The firm focuses on collaboration with architects for public and institutional urban projects. Prior to opening his own firm, Schaudt served as Associate for Daniel Urban Kiley, and was profoundly influenced by the legendary modernist. Over the past 16 years, Schaudt’s own firm portfolio of work has been inserted into the great historical landscapes of Chicago. This year, the firm was part of a team that won the international competition for the Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto, and is currently on the Chicago 2016 Olympic Design Team which recently won the US bid for the Summer Olympic Games.
Artist’s Statement
"The painting is a travel sketch watercolor of the Cascade and Water Organ of the classic water garden Villa D’Este in Tivoli. The sketch was done during Schaudt’s year as a Fellow in Landscape Architecture at the American Academy in Rome, 1991."
