Ilze Jones, architect and landscape architect, is Principal/CEO of Seattle-based Jones & Jones, Architects and Landscape Architects, Ltd. Jones’ talent and expertise embody an interdisciplinary creativity in which her architecture and landscape environments are one, inseparable but each with its own clarity and spirit. Designing and leading a collaboration of environmental disciplines at Jones & Jones, she has produced a body of work and ideas that show the way to achieve honorable environmental stewardship.

Artist Statement: Many pleasurable summer hours are spent at this summer home in the San Juan Islands. Here at the tipi, I continue to measure time by the seasons, the tides, the storms, the wind, the stars, the color of spring wildflowers, and the yellow gold of the meadow grass at sunset.
