Warren Marr

Warren Marr's aesthetic and technical mastery of eloquently expressive panoramic images has gained him a worldwide reputation. He studied photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York and his work has since been exhibited at many well-known galleries and published in numerous books and periodicals. His prints are also included in the permanent collection of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. He is a fifth generation Californian, and lives in Southern California on a hill with panoramic views.

Artist Statement: Descanso Gardens is shaped by the oak trees which form the heart of its being and shade the 20,000 camellia bushes underneath the canopy, a combination probably unique in the world. The images I made during my time there represent the respite from the urban environment outside the gardens.
