Darrel Morrison taught landscape architecture at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Georgia for a total of 35 years. Now semi-retired, he lives in New York City and teaches periodically at various institutions, including Utah State University, Rutgers University, Columbia University, and Conway School of Landscape Design. He also consults on various ecologically-based landscape design and management projects throughout the country.
Artist Statement: I did this watercolor while on a field trip with graduate students at Utah State University on a cloudy October day in 2006. I am always intrigued by patterns of vegetation in the natural landscape, as influenced by moisture, slope, and orientation.
