The golf course is a popular destination in Columbus Park and a place to see who plays golf. A visit to the golf course is also a visit to Jens Jensen's "prairie." Jensen’s design for Columbus Park transformed a golf course, which already existed on the site, into an interpretation of a Midwestern prairie.
