The unique work of The Cultural Landscape Foundation would not be possible without the generous support of the individuals, companies, and foundations that believe in our mission as much as we do. While many of our supporters donate their financial resources, a number of people give of their time and talent. We are equally thankful for all of their assistance.

Giving is very personal and is a reflection of each donor’s belief in the organization.

Gifts of Securities

Gifts of appreciated securities offer the donor the opportunity to make a substantial gift to TCLF and avoid capital gains taxes. The donor can also use the gift as a charitable tax donation.

The process for transferring appreciated stock to TCLF is quite simple. The first step is to notify the TCLF development office of the intent to make the gift along with the intended purpose of the gift. Donations may be restricted for use in a particular program or for general operating uses.

Upon notification of an impending securities gift, TCLF will contact the donor with details for submitting the transfer either in person, through the mail, or electronically.

Bequests

Because TCLF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, a bequest allows a donor to pass any amount toTCLF free of estate taxes. The donor is able to specify a dollar amount or percentage of the estate to be donated with or without restrictions.

A bequest is revocable and able to be modified through a codicil thus providing the donor flexibility and privacy. The following words is all that is needed:

“I give and bequeath to the Cultural Landscape Foundation, 1909 Que Street NW, Second Floor, Washington, DC, 20009, the sum of _______ dollars (or ___% of my estate), to be used at the discretion of said organization (or for a specific program or project).”
