KILEY: CONCORDIA THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY

(threat continued)

Dan Kiley, the original landscape architect for the campus, visited Fort Wayne in July 2001 to survey the damage and to give historical continuity between the original plan and the seminary's master plan, which now must include recovery from the tornado. Kiley is now 89 years old and would very much like to see the campus restored.

When the mayor of Fort Wayne, Graham Richard, learned that Concordia Theological Seminary was to be included in this list of endangered landscapes he noted, "... with its breathtaking landscape and architecture, the campus of the Concordia Theological Seminary has long been a special treasure in Fort Wayne. We consider the damage to the campus to be a terrible loss for our community. It is our sincere hope that it will be possible to restore the campus to its original condition."
