Celia Carnes - Project Manager

Celia Carnes manages the research, writing, and editing of TCLF’s education and advocacy content, including its comprehensive What's Out There database of landscapes and landscape architects, annual Landslide report, and Pioneers oral histories and biographies. Before joining TCLF, she managed communications for a boutique architecture firm in Washington, D.C. Her experience in community development, cultural resource management, historic preservation, and architectural journalism honed her skill for communicating the complexity of placemaking to diverse audiences. She holds a B.A. in anthropology and global studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.S. in architectural conservation from the University of Edinburgh. Her research on the historic urban landscape of Deptford, London received the Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture’s Conservation Prize.
