Elizabeth Byers

Ms. Byers is currently a preservation projects specialist for The Garden Conservancy, where she has worked for the past seven years. In this position she helps manage the Garden Conservancy’s Bay Area conservation easement program, and serves as the Alcatraz Historic Gardens project coordinator. Ms. Byers co-authored the second edition of The Conservation Easement Handbook, published by the Trust for Public Land and Land Trust Alliance in 2005. She has more than 25 years of experience in the land conservation field, including 16 years as a program director and project manager at the Trust for Public Land. Ms. Byers holds a BS in Conservation of Natural Resources and a Master of Landscape Architecture in Environmental Planning, both from the University of California at Berkeley.
