Event to mark birthday of famed landscape architect Frederick Olmsted celebrates value of Palm Beach parks

Olmsted, who also designed the Emerald Necklace chain of parks system in Boston, the U.S. Capitol, and the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, was a conservationist as well as a landscape architect, said Charles Birnbaum, founder of The Cultural Landscape Foundation and moderator of the event.
