Nestled at the top of Cape Cod Bay in the charming beachfront town of Provincetown, MA, rests the Cape Dune Garden. The recently redesigned landscape of this historic 1850s cottage, designed by award-winning NY-based landscape architecture firm, Angell Landscape Architecture, expressed the clients’ desire to re-envision the landscape in a way that was uniquely "them." Join TCLF for an exclusive Garden Dialogue with firm founder, Marissa Angell, that examines a cohesive, welcoming, and animated landscape that pays homage to the surrounding national seashore.

The tour will begin with the group at a private boardwalk leading to the home’s main entrance, where a perennial palette—comprising 70 per cent native plantings indigenous to the area, supplemented by non-aggressive bulb and perennial species hailing from the climatically comparable South Africa—lines the walkway. Softly lit with complementary Bega light fixtures, the elevated boardwalk mirrors the dunescape of the Cape Cod seashore.

Attendees will make their way to the backyard, designed to be an extension of the indoor living space. Earth-tone colors, visible in the Douglas fir deck and winding trellises, continue the palette of the home’s interior, and also complements the surrounding vegetation. The focal point of the backyard is the fire pit, reminiscent of a sand dollar, paying tribute to the home’s coastal New England roots. Sculptures from the owners' personal collection were thoughtfully curated and placed throughout the property, contributing to a space that is uniquely “them.”
