Announcing the Passing of Cornelia Hahn Oberlander

It is with profound sadness that we announce that Cornelia Hahn Oberlander, who the New York Times called “the grande dame of landscape architecture,” passed away on May 22, 2021 in Vancouver, B.C. at the age of 99. Oberlander is the namesake of the Cornelia Hahn Oberlander International Landscape Architecture Prize, created by The Cultural Landscape Foundation (TCLF), the subject of a TCLF Pioneers video oral history and was profiled in an introductory video about the Oberlander Prize.

A funeral was held at the Temple Sholom Cemetery in Vancouver, B.C., which Cornelia designed, on Monday May 24, 2021. A video of the service is available online.
