New Orleans’ cityscape includes parks, historic districts, university campuses, planned communities, and greenways- spanning the colonial era all the way up to the Postmodernist, and making it one of the nation's most popular destinations. Building upon the documentation gathered for the New Orleans Guidebook, this What's Out There Weekend will take place during the first weekend of April and provide an opportunity for free tours of the city's most significant landscapes. Tours will include the Vieux Carré Historic District, Washington Square Park, City Park, Longue Vue Gardens, and Piazza d'Italia, among many others, and are led by experts in the landscape architecture and history fields.

For much more information about the landscape legacy of New Orleans, check out TCLF's interactive, online What's Out There New Orleans Guide, which includes historical narratives, landscape descriptions, and important biographies.
