What inspired your organization to support TCLF, and how does it align with your mission?
Simply, landscape architecture is the engine of our organization on so many different levels and even though Summerhill doesn't practice, it's our mission as a builder, maintainer, and grower of landscapers to immerse ourself in its world. TCLF's tireless advocacy for the landscape architecture and its built work aligns perfectly with our culture of appreciation for the profession.
How does partnering with TCLF advance your commitment to sustainable design and innovative landscapes?
The exposure to so many diverse perspectives from the landscapes that TCLF advocates for and the many wonderful people in the cohort that supports TCLF have been invaluable to our organization. Connecting with such a varied range of practitioners getting in person exposure to their work has inarguably informed what we do and we're better for it.
What aspects of TCLF’s work resonate most with you, and why?
At the heart of Summerhill is a passion for all things landscape architecture: the craft, the built work, and its many wonderful practitioners. Couple that with a deep appreciation for the through line of the historic landscapes that TCLF preserves to the contemporary landscapes the organization highlights. If we could boil that down to one word that resonates with us it would be: Passion. That is a trait that both TCLF and Summerhill most certainly share!
