Chris Merritt
Chris Merritt is a landscape architect and founding principal of Merritt Chase. He leads the firm's work on culturally significant public landscapes across Middle America. He believes thoughtfully designed public gardens, plazas, and parks can improve our lives. His work focuses on connecting people, culture, and ecology in public space. Chris has completed projects ranging from transformative urban master plans to finely detailed landscapes for public agencies, community organizations, and institutions. A graduate of Harvard University's Graduate School of Design and Purdue University, Chris brings both strategic vision and design precision to his work. He has received recognition for his work with awards from the Urban Land Institute, the American Society of Landscape Architects, and the American Institute of Architects. Chris received an Emerson Collective Fellowship for his work on Monument Circle in Indianapolis and serves on the Curatorial Advisory Committee for Exhibit Columbus. He is active in his local community as a designer, advisor, and curator advocating for the power of landscape architecture to shape beautiful, connected, and enduring places that people love.
